FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR VENICE 2000
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2008
epOxybOx, 600 SOUTH VENICE BOULEVARD
Dear Friends,
Gang intervention is an important issue in our neighborhood. Awareness is elevated when there is a shooting, but on a day-to-day basis, how do we embrace this complex tragedy? A large percentage of struggling individuals that might be open to a more productive life are often forgotten. I hope you will attend a panel discussion this December 5 and share your views on how we might work to resolve this issue.
Writer, teacher and political activist Tom Hayden will be a panelist and will also sign his book, Street Wars—described as "an honest and gripping frontline account of America's young urban untouchables" by Danny Glover. The event is a fundraiser for Venice 2000, our local non-profit gang intervention organization.
When: Friday, December 5, 2008 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Where: epObOx, 600 South Venice Boulevard, Venice, CA
